You may be thinking, “What the heck do a car and closet have in common?” Keep reading and you’ll find my super tip that can apply to your clothes and your car. If you are anything like me, there usually comes a point in the year where I just HAVE to refresh my closet organization. I know it’s time when I end up shoving clothes aside just to get to what I want to wear.
This usually means that my closet organization happens when the seasons change so I have appropriate clothing within reach. Having layering items organized also takes care of those days where it may be cooler in the mornings and evenings but warm during the day.
Closet organization doesn’t need to take long, therefore the structure will allow you to get ready for the next season and whatever it may bring in weather and life.
There are 5 simple steps that you can implement to get started with your closet organization too. I’m sharing those 5 steps in detail over on Living Well Mom. You can check out the post right here.
Another tip is to utilize the “space real estate” under your bed. I’ve found that under-the-bed storage bins are great for those thicker sweaters, hats, gloves, scarves and other seasonal items that you don’t want taking up space in your closet. These bins are the ones I use because it’s a drawer, so you don’t have to worry about taking the whole bin out from under the bed.
Side note: these bins also worked AMAZINGLY WELL in the back of our car this summer on a road trip. We put the bins side-by-side which kept snacks and other items within easy reach whenever we made a pitstop. They were also sturdy enough to support the weight of luggage, a baby stroller, travel swing, hiking packs, and a few other items. You have got to give them a try.
And here’s the thing…
Your closet is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to creating an organized home. So, I interviewed 19 experts who share their favorite organizing tips, and many of them can apply to any area of your life. Click the image below and you can download all their tips in one PDF.
